Boards change these sizes between recruitment cycles, so compare your row with the “How to apply” section of your current notification. If the numbers differ, open Size rules in the tool and type the new ones. Exam not in the table? Choose Custom size and enter the pixels and KB from your notification. This site is not affiliated with any board or exam in this table, or with any government body.
How to get a clean signature image
- Sign on plain white paper with a black pen. For UPSC, sign three times, one below the other, and keep all three. For other exams, sign a few times and pick the best one.
- Photograph it in daylight, holding the phone straight above the paper so there are no shadows.
- Choose your exam in step 1, then choose the photo. The tool uses Fit inside, so the ends of your signature are never cut off; empty space is filled with white.
- If the signature looks small, crop the photo closer to it in your gallery app and choose it again.
- Download the JPG and upload it in the signature field.
Banking exams (IBPS and SBI PO)
IBPS and SBI PO ask for the same signature: 140×60 px and 10–20 KB, black ink on plain white paper. Use your normal running signature: signatures in CAPITAL letters are not accepted. Sign the way you will sign at the exam centre, because your signature is compared later. IBPS calls the pixel size “preferred”; the KB range is what its portal checks.
UPSC: three signatures in one image
UPSC’s current upload instructions ask you to sign three times, one below the other, in black ink on plain white paper, and to scan all three signatures in a single image of 20–100 KB. The only size they give is “350 – 500 pixels”, so the tool starts at 400×300 px, which keeps three signatures readable. Change it under Size rules if your notification gives an exact size.
NEET and JEE (NTA)
The NEET (UG) 2026 and JEE (Main) 2026 information bulletins ask for the signature as a JPG/JPEG of 10–100 KB, and the JEE Main bulletin adds that it must be clearly legible. Neither gives a pixel size, so the tool starts at 400×150 px.
SSC
The SSC CHSL 2026 notice asks for a JPEG/JPG signature of 10–20 KB. It gives the size in centimetres, about 4–6 cm wide and 2 cm high, not in pixels, so the tool starts at 400×150 px. Crop close so your signature fills most of the image: SSC rejects very small signatures.
Railways (RRB)
The RRB notice (CEN 08/2025) asks for a JPG/JPEG signature of 30–49 KB, at least 140 × 60 pixels and scanned at 100 DPI or more, in running handwriting, not block or capital letters. The tool starts at 560×240 px and marks the file 200 DPI. A file that comes out under 30 KB is padded up to the minimum without changing the picture.
Common signature mistakes
- Blue ink or lined notebook paper. The lines show up after compression, and some forms accept black ink only: sign again in black on plain paper, or turn on Make ink pure black in the tool.
- A signature that fills only a small part of the photo. Crop close to it first so it stays readable at the small size.
Portals disagree on whether 1 KB is 1,000 or 1,024 bytes. Files from this tool stay under the maximum and over the minimum by both definitions, so a “50 KB max” limit is never exceeded by a few bytes.
